Born and educated  in Wales, after a long career in electronics and aerospace, I moved to live in Hendersonville, North Carolina where I was able to develop his hobby of Woodturning.

As a member of Carolina Mountain Woodturners I had the opportunity to be present at demonstrations from many of the world’s leading Woodturners and developed My skills by practicing what I saw.

In 2006 I attended a two week masterclass at Arrowmont School of the Arts & Crafts with Jean François Escoulen where I learned amongst other techniques, Off Axis Turning.

Sponsored by NC Arts Council in 2008 I attended a five day workshop in the Studio of Jean Francois Escoulen where I learned more of Off Axis Turning.

I lived in Horse Shoe, near Asheville NC where indigenous hardwoods were plentiful especially after winter storms.  With a Powermatic 3520 Lathe I am able to make articles up to 19 inches in diameter. All are one of a kind pieces. I decided that I wanted to make decorative pieces rather than functional

domestic items.

If  you have specific requirements then that is open to discussion.
